Welcome to English Comedy Frankfurt. We aim to bring high-quality comedy shows with diverse audiences and comedians to our fellow Frankfurters. Comedy is a universal language, which is perfect for an international city like Frankfurt am Main. Our events are for everyone who would appreciate a chance to meet new people and have a good laugh in a relaxed environment.
Each event is unique, live, original and presented to give the audience a great night of laughter. In a city where a third of residents are international, English becomes the bridge language that lets everyone access the same jokes, the same stories, the same cathartic laughs.
The Funny Business is Open to Everyone
We aim to support people who want to start a comedy journey by offering classes on improvisation and a blog on joke writing. We believe the skills comedians have are useful for everyone from all walks of life. It isn’t just about getting laughs. It’s about thinking on your feet, reading a room, and turning awkwardness into connection. Our improv classes and joke-writing resources help you develop these skills whether you’re aiming for the stage or just want to navigate life with more confidence and wit.
Why listen to us?
Abigail Paul holds a BFA in Theatre Performance and Masters in Mass Communications. She has extensive comedy training from Chicago’s Second City and has performed across 40 cities worldwide, championing fearless new writing and authentic storytelling through comedy. Her 2023 BBC Popcorn Award nomination for her dark and deeply personal “Involuntary Momslaughter” at Edinburgh Fringe reflects the quality of her original material. She founded this blog in 2001 with her like-minded C-hive.
